We have just completed and installed this cow sort gate for one of our customers. Dairy cows can be sorted from either the milking parlour, the office computer or manually from a remote control. The main advantage of this gate is the way the gates are hinged. By hinging the gates the opposite way to conventional sort gates and moving both gates at once, a natural tunnel is created and it is much more gentle on the cow resulting in better cow flow and fewer incorrectly sorted or missed cows.
Made from heavy duty 4 inch steels with compressed air operation cows are directed gently but firmly and the twin gate design means sorting in two directions is also possible.
The customer is very happy with the gate and installation and has reported that the sorting is as close to 100% as possible and far exceeded his expectations.
